Individual Therapy

Clients enter a one-on-one therapeutic relationship with a psychotherapist to address their emotional concerns. A therapist may use many therapeutic approaches in which they have been trained or they may adhere to one they identify with in order to assist the individual with viewing themselves through the lens of that therapeutic approach, fostering change through self-discovery.

Family Therapy

With family therapy, the therapist systemically views the family as a whole unit rather than as the sum of its parts. As with couples therapy, the therapist may see individual family members separately in conjunction with the family as a whole. There are numerous modalities from which the therapist may approach issues, but the important thing to remember is that whatever modality your therapist uses, you can address identified difficulties and bring about significant changes in your life.

Couple’s Therapy

Many couples seek the assistance of a therapist to address relationship challenges. A therapist helps the couple to learn to effectively communicate and connect with one another while resolving relational difficulties. It may seem that the relationship is the “client” as you move through the therapeutic process. As therapists, we typically see the couple together but may ask for individual sessions with each or one of the members of the couple, for screening purposes only.

    What is an intake session?

This session is typically 60 minutes long and focuses on therapist gathering basic information about your background, mental health history, and goals for therapy. This information is what helps the therapist build a treatment plan that is suited to your unique needs and goals.

    What is a phone intake?

This is a free, scheduled short phone call (with Imani who also serves as the scheduler at this time) which lasts about 10-15 minutes. The goal is to allow a potential client to ask questions about services while the scheduler gathers general information about their demographics, insurance (if applicable), and mental health service history.

    Do we accept insurance?*

Yes. We currently accept United Healthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Oscar Health, & Oxford Health all through our 3rd party billing company. Please check with your provider to make sure that your policy has telehealth services as well as mental health coverage for counseling available.

*We do not accept BCBS at this time.

    More on Insurance…

For anyone interested in using insurance for therapy, it does require a diagnosis (which may be a permanent addition to your health record) as it is required for us to provide medical necessity in order to use health insurance to cover the cost of services.

What if my insurance is not accepted?

If your insurance is not any of the above-listed, please reach out to us via email or the “Check Your Insurance” form under the “About” section to discuss the available alternatives.

    How can I pay?

Because we are virtual right now, we do not accept cash. Payment can be made using a credit, debit, or Health Savings Account/Flexible Spending Account card via our HIPAA-compliant billing platforms. It is required to have a card on file for the duration of services until services are terminated.

What about the Good Faith Estimate (GFE)?

The Good Faith Estimate is a breakdown of the cost of services so that uninsured, private pay clients know exactly what they are responsible for. You will receive this estimation during the intake session. For more about the “No Surprises” Act which is responsible for the GFE, check our “Resources” section for a link to the government fact sheet.

What if I want an extended session?

For extended session inquiries please contact the office at (469) 584–9675 (contact form/email is the best method).

Is there a late cancellation or no-show fee?

Yes. The late cancellation fee is half the service price. The no-show fee is the service price. No shows are defined by failing to notify us of your need to cancel before the day of your appointment. To avoid late cancellation fees, please cancel your session at least 24 hours in advance. Although you will still incur a late cancellation fee, you can avoid the no-show fee by notifying us at least 4 hours in advance.

Does either therapist provide sessions for children?

Yes. However, we do not service any children under the age of 10. For more information, please contact the office at (469) 584–9675 (contact form/email is the best method).

When will you begin seeing people in-person again?

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are continuously re-evaluating safety protocols. We will keep all current clients as well as potential clients updated. However, telehealth is available & easy to utilize! All you need is a functional computer or smartphone (with a camera of course) & a reliable internet connection.
